a lunar road

A mass of clouds and rain make memories

Of a path I’ve walked too aimlessly

Though falling endlessly, I’ve found my place

Among the corpses where I’ve seen my face

A light is taunting in my longest days

Past the vista where my aide once strayed

I’m making room for dusk inside my brain

Until the end of a day spent in vain

And though my evening ends, it’s not too late

To laugh in earnest at all my mistakes

I’m made of secrets I can’t express

To keep me bound in dreams I resent

I’m waking up to face a brand new day

Through half dead eyes so I won’t be late

I’ll make my bed before I sleep again

And endure daylight until night descends
